One of my uncle’s friends went hunting a couple of weeks ago, and he shot a Gnu. A lot of people were excited because Gnus aren’t supposed to be in this area…in fact; Gnu are usually more common in Africa, NOT in a small city in the United States, like the one that I live in (But I didn’t know that until later...).When I overheard my cousin talking about the Gnu, about how big it was and how smooth and beautiful it’s black fur was, I thought he was talking about some kind of unicorn. So I asked my cousin if he actually got to see the Gnu. He said yes and explained to me that it was a rare animal. Now that made me kind of sad, if the animal was rare, then why would someone shot it? I asked my cousin where the Gnu came from, and he paused to think. “Hey, dad!” he shouted, “Where do Gnu’s come from?” Well, his dad didn’t know, and he didn’t know and I thought it was a unicorn, so the next best thing to do was consult the encyclopedia. That is when we found out that the Gnu is from Africa. That beautiful place almost half-way around the world.

So how did this Gnu get all the way to the southern parts of the United States? Well, my uncle told me later, but you all are so smart, you probably have already figured it out .
